What we collect
We collect your account info (email), the notes/voice/photos you add to the app, and basic usage data to keep things running smoothly.
How your notes are processed
Your notes, voice memos, and photos are processed by AI providers (Google Gemini and/or Anthropic Claude) only when you use AI-powered features. They receive the content needed to organize and structure your note, and they return the result. They are not allowed to retain, use, or train their models on your content.
Third-party services we use
We work with a small number of service providers who help run ClareNote:
- Firebase (Google Cloud) is our hosting provider. Your notes, voice memos, photos, and account data are stored securely with Firebase. Firebase does not use your content for advertising, model training, or any purpose beyond providing the infrastructure that runs ClareNote.
- Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports and limited diagnostic data to help us identify and fix bugs.
- AI providers (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude) receive note content only when you use AI-powered features, to perform organization and structuring on our behalf. They are not allowed to retain or train their models on your content.
- Sentry receives crash reports, performance traces, and limited log data for observability and to help us maintain stability.
We do not share your content with any other third parties.
Subscription and payment processing
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status across platforms. RevenueCat does not have access to your payment card or bank details.
What we don't do with your data
We do not sell your data. We do not share your notes, voice memos, or photos with advertisers, marketers, or data brokers. We do not use your content to build advertising profiles. We do not let AI providers use your notes to train their models.
Data used to improve the app
We may use aggregated usage data, crash diagnostics, performance traces, and logs to fix bugs, improve performance, and guide product decisions. This does not include selling your data or sharing your raw note content for unrelated purposes.
Your control
You can delete any note, or your whole account, anytime.
